Last year, NTEN and many others encouraged folks to submit their internet bills to Consumer Reports - 22k people did and the results of analyzing all those bills are here!

Spoiler: things aren't great. 🧵

One finding by CR: our consumer internet bills are often so confusing that even researchers can't decipher them!

Why is this important? You can't argue what you don't understand. This is an intentional tactic.

This is why NTEN and 30+ others called on the FCC to create a broadband consumer label so that we can all avoid junk fees and actually know what we are paying for.

Another finding by CR: when consumers have a choice of provider, their prices are lower.

Is this news? Not at all! We know that with competition we get better prices and services. This is why ISPs work so hard to keep competition low.

At NTEN we believe that the internet should be affordable and accessible to everyone and that's why we are proud to partner with folks like Consumer Reports to fight for a fair internet for all!
