There's something somewhat satisfying about the manual grunt-work involved in data enrichment, cleansing and manual analysis in order to get everything ready for other algorithms. It takes a lot of time, can feel redundant, but just playing with the data often gives me an intuition that I don't think I could can get any other way. I'm going to bed feeling happy.
