The Abandoned Alexander Conca Machine Shop in Bristol, PA | Abandoned America

When the owner of this machine shop passed away at 76, a fascinating time capsule was left behind.

Just spent a whole bunch of time updating the Abandoned America store where, counterintuitively, I do not sell abandoned Americas but rather mugs, postcards, and my books, which are back in stock for the first time in quite a while. Great for gifts and helping to keep Abandoned Americas financially solvent! https://www.dismantlingthedream.com/

@AbandonedAmerica This is a niche question I recognize, but have you ever done or considered doing any stereo photography of abandoned interiors? It captures architectural spaces in such a unique way.
@gfling I have a little 3D Lumix camera which is pretty limited and I loved using that even though it was kind of objectively terrible. I'd love to do more with 3D images, but the fact that there's so little that produces/supports it is a hindrance. I'm light on money but if you have recommendations for either I'm definitely open to hearing them
@AbandonedAmerica LONG REPLY(!): If many of your interiors are done on a tripod and things aren't moving, easiest thing is just to move it over and take the same shot with the same camera. Move it the distance of human eyes for a totally realistic effect or move it further to exaggerate it a bit.
@AbandonedAmerica For digital images you can align easily with stereophotomaker - old software that still works well to automate all that. There's no market for it but you could offer high def JPEG pairs on your website and places where people share stereo imagery. It does capture interior architectural spaces like nothing else. If you haven't, check out some of the View-Master sets by View Productions. Or the Unseen Ellis Island set for some good abandoned building stuff.

Your alt text descriptions are amazing.
@wcbdata thank you! I never feel like they're descriptive enough but I was reflecting on how it is good writing exercise to do them
