Twelve GOP senators voted today in favor of marriage equality, overcoming the 60-vote filibuster threshold:

Roy Blunt (MO)
Richard Burr (NC)
Shelley Moore Capito (WV)
Susan Collins (ME)
Cynthia Lummis (WY)
Rob Portman (OH)
Dan Sullivan (AK)
Mitt Romney (UT)
Thom Tillis (NC)
Lisa Murkowski (AK)
Join Ernst (IA)
Todd Young (IN)

I wrote about why I don't like this bill, and why it absolutely needed to pass.

I'm glad it did. Read my piece on it here:

I Hate the Senate Bill and We Need It to Pass

Listen now (13 min) | It sucks. And it's our only real option. We have to pass it.

Charlotte's Web Thoughts
@charlotteclymer Surprised to see Romney here. Also, McConnell didn't vote for it even though he's in an interracial marriage. Very odd.
@JoeFromCali @charlotteclymer The LDS actually supported this bill, so it's not a surprise that Romney voted yes. They've apparently made some changes in their public stances since the backlash after they funded Prop 8.
@shaktinah @charlotteclymer Interesting – I did not know that. That's promising. Thanks. Wow...this feels so different than Twitter. LOL
