Good morning, world!

Got up early today to watch NASA yeet a giant pork-barrel at the Moon, with deplorable production values (SpaceX's PR people have got us used to the view from carefully intercut GoPros strapped to every conceivable crevice of their fireworks).

Also learned that Elon Musk just violated employment law (at twitter) in virtually every jurisdiction outside California (and maybe Texas)—definitely illegal if anyone there is working in the EU, or even the benighted UK.

Interesting that about the only differences from a Saturn V mission are the boosters (why aren’t they recoverable? Oh, yes, Boeing cost plus contract), and not using a parking orbit but directly injecting into translunar trajectory. I didn’t expect any better when they announced the project, but I’m still disappointed.

Gotta pay for Starliner somehow (referring to Artemis overruns)

I figured they’d use the obscene profits from the F-35 Lightning Lemon for that.
