@theresnotime I just learned the commands I needed, and as I went along discovered new ones. But whatever editor works for you, is the one that is correct!

@lili @theresnotime Yeah absolutely. Learning vi was pretty essential back in the day for doing systems stuff. It was always on every server, whatever flavor of Unix.

@lili @theresnotime Now I’m sure folks can use a lot of other tools, and not as many people are editing files on servers anyway.

@lili @theresnotime I still use it, I have like 3 decades of muscle memory for it. But there are so many options now. The thing that makes vim (as opposed to vi) really powerful is all the great plugins.
