Might I suggest that Twitter refugees include their generalized location in bios? The process of reestablishing a network will result in making new connections and you may not always know someone's location.

More importantly, this place is far less American-centric than Twitter, and having to ID as American (if you are) might remind you that the US is not the entire world.

@emptywheel Kia ora or hello from Aotearoa NZ, that's a great idea, but might I also please suggest that if we refrain from using the term 'refugee' this will show respect and compassion to real refugees who have lost their family, home, job, identity, culture, citizenship and more... not just decided to move social media accounts.
