We need you all! She is someone who should never be in power. Thank you for voting and call everyone you know to check their ballots!!
@Vinny787 boosting with cw: Colorado election, urgent
@Vinny787 WTF with all this mail vote thing? I am not from US, for me it looks at least weird. Why all this trouble if you can just vote in-person? In comparison with this electoral college looks reasonable (:
@Vinny787 @MrClon U.S. elections are held on a Tuesday and not everybody can leave work for that.

@fabricedeville move election to another day, or make this day national holiday, or spread election to several day seems to me easier and more reliable

@Vinny787

@MrClon @Vinny787 Yes but that would make it too easy for poorer people to vote, see. It’s by design
@MrClon @fabricedeville @Vinny787 2 words. Voter suppression. It’s very real here in the US
@fabricedeville @Vinny787 @MrClon Also, military can be registered to vote in any state they've lived in, regardless of current address or being overseas. It would be impossible for them to vote without it.

@MrClon

@Vinny787

Mail vote is a perfectly normal thing. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@MrClon @Vinny787 Mail is not a perfect solution, of course. Besides the universal US issue that many people cannot get off work to vote, many people in Colorado live in remote areas, far from the nearest town. An early snowstorm could close passes and cause delays or completely prevent many from being able to reach their polling location. Mail-in voting, though it does have logistical problems (like people not signing their ballots properly) is much more efficient and solves these issues.
@MrClon @Vinny787 Suppose you are physically unable to vote in person? Should no concession be made? You should lose that right? Seems a tad discriminatory. When one also factors in locale of polling places, schedules, and that election days aren't holidays here, voting by mail makes enough sense. That, and it's worked fine - until the whole "psychopath who can't accept reality enabling other such psychos" phenomenon that we've got atm...

@Black13 you can sent mobile «voting place» (two guys with box) to people who cant go to town. It's still not-so-good in terms of voting security and logistic, but much better then mail.
Of course i don't suggest just ban mail voting, but there is another, better, solutions to problem which is now addressed by mail voting. I suggest think about another options

@Vinny787

@MrClon @Vinny787 Heh. Tell me you've never witnessed the geographical crazy that is Texas and its cities without telling me. Your solution is inefficient, expensive and inadequate, when factoring in all needed variables here. What is the underlying issue with using the mail? If you're going to suggest fraud, I would suggest a preponderance of evidence to confirm, given again that other states have managed mail in voting without issue, as has the US military. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@MrClon @Vinny787 People in the UK are encouraged to vote by mail. It increases voting participation by people who are housebound or working, which is a good thing. Unfortunately in the US, it has been weaponised by the ex-President and his followers who claim that normal electoral housekeeping during the vote count is fraud. Vote counts often take time for final results to be verified and impatience is not a reasonable excuse to disenfranchise people during an election.
@MrClon Voting in the US is almost always on Tuesday, so lots of people are at work, plus places where they want to suppress some voters will reduce hours at or close in-person polling places in those areas, sometimes leading to really long lines at the remaining polling places (again, likely during a work day, and often aimed at people with less job security). And people often prefer vote-by-mail to avoid Covid, weather, driving, and to spend more time being careful.
