Mastodon is not broken.
It's different, and much better. Mastodon by design promotes engagement not asserting influence. It's a dinner party, not a food fight. Most of what you might at first think is deficient is intentional. Before you rush to conclusions, try it for a while. Take part in this new community. Make new friends. Be kind. This is what social media should be. You will be amazed.
@mastodonmigration (Whispers) Using CamelCase in multi-word hashtags makes life much easier for folks using screen-readers.
E.g. CoOp gets pronounced "co op" rather than "coop".
@likesohushhush @DewiIoan @mastodonmigration Ah, indeed - it's such a long time since I've written Perl, I'd completely forgotten that camelCase gets its name from the hump in the middle, and what I really meant was InterCapping!
(Or, of course, PascalCase - except I know if I mention Pascal, I'll set @jimlynn off).
