I find myself in the same position I was in during the early days of the birdsite, wondering what to post. Don’t want to be political or polemical in these early days, but mustn’t be too bland either. Not going to show you the scones I baked, share my latte art or describe my sourdough starter. Nor should I plug my current productions just yet. Easy enough to know what we don’t want Mastodon to be …

… anyway, that’s my current thinking

@stephenfry

Stephen - I don't think people care much what you post...

We just want to see you happily chatting away here... prattling even... all eccentricities unleashed - and enjoying your comfort in this new place with friends around you.

To borrow from Dory in "Finding Nemo": Just keep posting.

Share, chat, and be merry - and the community will rejoice with you. ♥️

@mikegalsworthy @stephenfry Cannot agree more. Mr Fry you are such an inspiration to so many, just crack on in whichever way you feel comfortable with 🥰
@mikegalsworthy yes!
The world is a better place with Stephen Fry in it and I only decided to come here after seeing he'd left Twitter.
@mikegalsworthy @stephenfry I don't half miss the adverts. ..and those algorithms
@mikegalsworthy @stephenfry ...and some will reveal themselves to be arses and miscellaneous other body parts and shall be blocked and the party will continue.

@stephenfry

Wholeheartedly agree with the sage advice from @mikegalsworthy FWIW. The best thing about Mastodon (from my vast five day's experience) is that there is no expectation, no obligation, no judgement. It's what Twitter could and should been from the start.

Relax, enjoy, have a cup of tea and kick off your shoes.

@mikegalsworthy
And if you don’t know what to say try @3goodthings
@mikegalsworthy @stephenfry If nothing else, complain about the roadworks.
