Musk on advertising
@taylorlorenz Genuinely curious if he regrets everything related to the Twitter purchase and if he still thinks he will somehow be able to salvage the situation vs. taking the loss
@hemonc @taylorlorenz Perhaps he's now just using it as a tax-write-off project and once it's been declared bankrupt it'll be taken back by the original people again. Yes, Musk may make a little loss but my impression is that the majority of the money came from banks, Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom Holding Company, and Oracle/Ellison.
@rbairwell @taylorlorenz Financial loss is one thing, but reputationally this seems like it will cast a much wider blast radius than the people who previously objected to his behavior
@hemonc @rbairwell @taylorlorenz nah, he's got the money and that's all it matters in this world. He'll blame it on the previous management, and to the people who matter that'll be enough.
@lacrymology @hemonc @rbairwell @taylorlorenz Elmo has a cult-like fandom.
@locksmithprime @hemonc @rbairwell @taylorlorenz he does, but that's definitely not what I meant with "the people that matter". I was talking about banks and whoever will lend him money for his next delusion

@hemonc @rbairwell @taylorlorenz His reputational strategy seems very tied to confronting his critics. His remaining fans and remaining social circle are, I think, quite enamored with a never-back-down mentality.

I just don't think he has a lot of incentive to admit he's made a major blunder and tons of incentive to pretend he hasn't, even as evidence mounts.
