@tricksyliesmith you are on mastodon.social. The name behind the @ behind your name is the name of your server. It's like with old noblemen: Sir Robin of Locksley was probably from Locksley.

@tricksyliesmith will say when you want to log in, you have to look for mastodon.social and then go there on "Log in". If you try on the wrong server, it will display "User unknown". It's like when you try to unlock the front door of the neighbours' with your housekey when you return home drunk. Their home might look like yours from the outside, but it's not your place^^

@DawiLDanger yeah, but when I look for 'mastadon.social' on the app it doesn't come up. And when I try any other it says wrong email/password when it isn't. I'll crack it eventually lol

@tricksyliesmith I had this issue first log in, too ... I normally do not use the app, I instead open the website on my phone's browser. Works as fine as the app and you can use more features. Would recommend trying that.

@DawiLDanger yeah that's what I've been doing but I just keep forgetting it exists 😄
