hmmm is @tilvids a viable solution to my youtube woes?
at first glance not sure as it seems to be instanced... where does one go if they post #gaming #videos and likely to post #aiart
Also seems to be a file size limit though I cant tell if thats as low as 50gb or 1tb..conflicting info.

@GamingDaveUK

Happy to talk about it! We're an edutainment-focused instance, and want to make sure content aligns with that mission. As far as space goes, completely depends on how much we're getting in community donations, etc. At the moment, trying to start new creators off at 1GB, established creators at 5GB. I can get up to around 20GB for the moment before it starts to get uncomfortable. But as donations continue to come in, we'll see.

@tilvids Ah not sure my videos have any educational value lol.
Gameplay wise it could be considered a what not to do lol.
when I looked earlier it seemed some of your instances were 50gb and some were 1tb, but dont fully understand it. Now i know they are for educational only it makes more sense. Back to the old drawing board lol (thanks for the reply though)

@GamingDaveUK

Keep in mind, #tilvids is just one #PeerTube instance. There are many out there, and you can even start your own! So don't limit yourself just because we focus on one type of content on our instance. There are definitely general instances, or even gaming instances, that would work well for you! Or like I said, you can always roll your own too!

@tilvids I thought TilVIds was a site itself. ok that makes sense now. Dont have the money (or hard drive space) to roll my own one. but interesting thats possible

@GamingDaveUK

Yeah, tilvids is one instance of PeerTube that our community hosts. There are many out there. And don't count yourself out on the hosting, there are pretty cheap ways to get started. Contabo and OVH are both VPS hosts where you can get started for less than $10 a month.

@tilvids I am looking forward to being able to watch the vid further up as I guess that will answer my questions/confusion lol.

Having to cut back on monthly spend, here in the UK bills are rising at an alarming rate...wages are not rising at all. but certainly something to consider when were out of the recission, that is cheaper than I expected.

@GamingDaveUK

Yeah, I hear you. Inflation is tough all over. Hang in there. 👍
