For a long time I've refused to name the abusive people and institute where I did my first postdoc. However, it's clear that issues are still on going there and senior management continue to not take action.
The Babraham Institute left me clinically depressed (& on antidepressants) for over a year. Working there may very well have ended my ambitions of being a PI, has certainly resulted in 1.5 valuable years wasted and now rules me out of many ECR grants. I also can't attend certain conferences
I'm sharing so that anyone who thinks of applying there is fully informed of the culture. I will continue to refrain from publicly naming individuals for now as I'm not taking shots at anyone.
I sacrificed myself to protect others and by not speaking out I feel I'm failing in this.
To this day I am penalised for that Cambridge experience and it really hurts.
Happy to chat to anybody who wants to. But also just want to add that I do know *some* very nice people who work there. As with anyplace, it isn't 100% everyone.
