One of the nicer things about Indian Tw*tt*r is the tradition of, on 14th November, Children’s Day in India, changing one’s display picture to a picture of one in one’s childhood. Tag it #Childhood / #Bachpan / [the word in you language] and explain to people why you do it.

To me, it is about keeping the child in one alive, remembering the innocence and wonder of childhood.

20th November is the UN’s World Children’s Day, because it marks both the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, and the date in 1989 when the it adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

So, Children’s Week, #MastIndia?

I also like to use Children’s Day — and what I am asking you to join me in observing as Children’s Week — to bring attention to people and organisations working for child rights, for a more equitable world for all children.

Maybe you could encourage orgs and people you know who work for children in this space to join the Fediverse?

Maybe you could point to the ones already here?
