Did you know? When Bill Clinton banned assault weapons in 1994, mass shootings dropped by 43%. After George W. Bush and the GOP let the assault weapons ban expire in 2004, mass shootings increased by 245%. — These numbers tell a story.
@Strandjunker Yeah, but the one the right wants to push is 'Well obvs you need those assault weapons to protect against mass shooters, so win-win for you.'
@Strandjunker I hope the fantasy that lawful mass ownership of firearms doesn’t correlate with more gun violence in the society will forever be put to rest.
@Strandjunker They do tell the story! Assault weapons must be permanently banned! (I remember you from Twitter.)
@Strandjunker I feel that people are missing the point of common sense and social responsibility towards others. No one should EVER pick up a firearm if one is drunk, sad, angry or in a self injuring mood.
@Strandjunker Those weapons cannot reasonably fight off the U.S. military, so they are pretty much only for mass shootings. ☹️
@Strandjunker a very obvious one….what’s the solution?
@Strandjunker
It is impossible to shoot someone if you do not have a gun. if you have a gun, you have the ability to shoot someone, whenever you decide that they need to be shot.
@Strandjunker how do you account for the fact a majority of mass shooting are not done with the AR platform?
@Strandjunker
Glad I can find you here! Your posts are spot on and I am so sick of Twitter. It has brought out the worst in so many!

@Strandjunker when our (conservative) government banned assault rifles after the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996, our mass shooting numbers dropped to zero. #Australia
@Strandjunker That’s what I’ve been telling people. Some of them just don’t want to believe it.

@Strandjunker

Now that Dems have the Senate, is there any chance at making this stick again? #guncontrol #guns #gunreform

@Strandjunker According to a Wikipedia table which gives information about "firearm-related death rate per 100,000 population per year".
USA 2017 12.21
France 2014 2.33
Canada 2018 1.94
Germany 2015 1.04
UK 2015 0.20
Mind you, look at
El Salvador 2015 78.52
@Strandjunker: And considering how the laws worked in practice, this provides some strong support to the argument that by adopting a law requiring that all civilian guns be painted safety pink would, by way of tickling the would-be violence-makers' toxic masculinity, significantly reduce gun violence.

NRA funded by Russian oligarchs. Dark money and Kompromat has been infiltrating US politics (among others) for decades. Scary times.

@Strandjunker I want to end mass shootings, too.

I just know that guns are a symptom of problems that neither liberals nor conservatives are interested in discussing.

@Strandjunker

The continual bloodshed of the innocent is the price America pays for a literal interpretation of the 2nd amendment. It's so sad, and so sick.
