@BethFishReads @fiberarts @bobbinlace this is magnificent... what will become of this piece once it is finished?
@bobbinlace @LookNoFurther @fiberarts it’s an oval edging. Traditionally it would be sewn to a piece of linen as a doily. I’ll likely frame it.
@BethFishReads @bobbinlace @fiberarts My Norwegian-American great=grandmother and her sisters did handwork that they called "tatting." Are you familiar with it? All of their pillowcases had tatted edges.
@bobbinlace @BethFishReads @fiberarts @LookNoFurther I taught myself to tat as a teenager! But man, it sucks if you make a mistake and need to pick it apart. Knitted and crocheted lace is more my jam. Easy to rrrrrip.
@Kayray @bobbinlace @BethFishReads @fiberarts @LookNoFurther Not if you make it with angora lace weight hehehehe
@BethFishReads @bobbinlace @LookNoFurther @jodywallace @fiberarts I’ll stick with good ol’ crochet cotton 😁
@Kayray @BethFishReads @bobbinlace @LookNoFurther @fiberarts The end product would PROBABLY be worth it to use one of those fuzzy, soft lace weights but you'd have to make NO mistakes.
