I know there’s something called an Atlantic Beach Pie. I am at Atlantic Beach. Where can I procure said pie?

@proactivebusybody Umm, at Crooks Corner? (RIP) https://www.ourstate.com/atlantic-beach-pie/

Although per that article, in *theory* it's available at oldschool seafood restaurants . . . I think Bill just picked "Atlantic Beach" for the name & that it's not a concept unique to that particular town.

@proactivebusybody Oh and here's the article Bill himself wrote about it: https://www.ourstate.com/one-phenomenal-pie/
@proactivebusybody Based on that, it *seems* like the "homemade lemon pie" on the Sanitary menu would be the thing: https://www.sanitaryfishmarket.com/menu/

@rossgrady @proactivebusybody +1 on "Homemade Lemon Pie" being what the old school places down there call it.
@rossgrady @proactivebusybody omg this is like a lightning bolt from my childhood
@charliereece @rossgrady Where did you get it?
@proactivebusybody @charliereece @rossgrady I cannot vouch for the pie, but if you can make it in the next 45 minutes or are there until Tuesday, the shrimp burger at Big Oak BBQ in Salter Path is truly one of God's perfect foods.
@leffjakin @charliereece @rossgrady Had it many times, since we come here a time or two every year. :)
@proactivebusybody @charliereece @rossgrady yes! my spouse and I just started coming in the pandemic era, and it very quickly became "our beach" (as opposed to our respective families beaches) ... got to take the new baby there this May to see the ocean for the first time!

@proactivebusybody @rossgrady Sanitary Fish Market.

When I was a kid, we spent a week at Atlantic Beach every summer. And each time down there we’d get to eat at Sanitary Fish Market in Morehead City exactly one time.

I have such powerful memories of that restaurant!! ❤️
