Florence
I have lived in Florence, or Firenze, over half a decade, and return intermittently to this image and others like it to trace familiar streets from an unfamiliar and illuminating perspective
@tomaashby what a beautiful way to connect with place and memory
@tomaashby I need to go back. 10 days in May wasnt enough 😍
@tomaashby The scale of the cathedral vs streets there really lets you see why shepherds bringing their sheep from the road pointing toward the top left and needing to take them toward the meat market at the lower/central right demanded the right to herd their sheep through the cathedral. So far to go around! (They got the right, since the wool guild was in charge of the cathedral). #Renaissance #earlymodern #Rennaidons
@adapalmer @tomaashby Amazing and so interesting. Thanks!
@tomaashby Nah - thus is the true Florence for my generation, cool as your pic certainly is :)
@tomaashby that is one lovely photo!
@tomaashby this is nice but where is the machine?
@tomaashby extremely out there, but seeing this reminds me of the scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory, when the glass elevator floats throughout the city 🍫✨
@tomaashby Awesome picture. I am currently doing some traveling. And wary on using my drone. 😅
@tomaashby Not a big fan of drone shots… but Florence 👍
@tomaashby oh my!! What a city it is... but then again, they all seem to be, there!
