Amazing so to see so many #gaming people come from the bird app. I’m spending more time here and while it clearly has a long (long!) way to go, I’m really liking many parts of it and hopeful that it both catches on and improves.
@Skillup I've still no idea how this place actually works or is supposed to work, but I'm liking it nonetheless lol

@Skillup for years a lot of people I know in gamedev have lamented that so much networking in our industry was happening on twitter, and felt like we had to hang around there as a result. trapped by the necessity to stay in touch with fellow devs

I think that now that its in its death throes, a lot of gamedevs are leaping at the chance to get off it and move elsewhere. hence the pretty high number joining here.

@Skillup Same ! I appreciate the more chill atmosphere here
@Skillup I like Mastodon better too. There’s just something about it. Still need some of the people I follow and who follow me on the blue bird to come over before I switch fully though.

@Skillup first few days after moving I didn't see many, but it's really picking up steam.

A few quirks to work out though.

It'll be interesting to see how the numbers shift over time

@Skillup it’s just too bad many big outlets I like to follow haven’t made the switch or at least mirror their posts.

@Skillup I just love how no one jumps down your throat and picks an argument with you. It's so civil and respectful here.

I kinda don't care that it's missing things or its harder to navigate, that trade is well worth the absence of nonsensical arguments

@Skillup Wish it wasn't confusing AF to use.
@Skillup the discoverablity is lacking as it pertains to topics, like gaming & suggested follows.
My hope is that some of the toxicity we saw on the bird app dies with it as well but we’ll see 😂
@Skillup
Agreed! Definitely has a very long way to go, but I do see the potential in this platform.
