Ok a tad on American politics.

The fever may be breaking. Dems will likely take both houses by very narrow margins. To those of us familiar with US history, if Rs messed up as bigly as I think they did, after the New Deal Ds had control of the House for forty years. This is why Gingrich was so damn huge

Yes, was in college when that election went down.

So we may be heading to an era of Democratic control, while Republicans find their way out of the fascist morass they find themselves in. This congress, control is very narrow, so Democrats will have to be way disciplined

Tonight I expect Cortes Masto to get ahead in NV. It’s where the votes are coming from. Ergo, the run off in GA, for control, is academic. I expect Warnock to win as well. So Senate will be a 51 majority

There are rumors McConnell intends to leave if he does not get the majority. The Governor of KY is a Dem…depending how the rules in the state work, potentially 52 Senators.

But for me, yes, the fever is starting to break, and yes, the kids are ok. They saved our bacon

@AdirondackFella I am allergic to gluten though. 😂
@Nadinabbott I’m hopeful for the first time in years, but I want to see the GOP’s collective reaction to Trump’s Tuesday announcement.
@Nadinabbott What makes you think the GA race is academic? Wasn't the third candidate a Libertarian? Stands to reason most of those votes would go to Walker? Or are you relying on enthusiasm to GOTV for Warnock? (genuinely curious what your thoughts are, not trolling)
@smirk insofar as control@of the senate is concerned. If Cortes Masto gets there tonight, it’s 50-50. This is exactly how it ran for the last two years.
@smirk mind you, if Masto gets it, this will depress turnout for Walker, because dems already control it, so, for many republicans voters it will be a why bother?
@smirk of course, assume otherwise if you are a Dem…but.

@smirk @Nadinabbott

Also, many of the Libertarian voters maybe unwilling to vote for either. A reduction in the total formerly L vote advantages Warnock.

But even if they all vote, he only needs something under 25% of them.

Fewer of them and winning less than a quarter of those that do, and he wins.

@McPatrick @smirk then there are republicans who were reluctant Walker voters…and will stay home because walker is a problematic candidate.
@Nadinabbott @McPatrick @smirk Adding to that point. Kemp won the Governor's race by about 8 points and that race also had a Libertarian. In this election, Walker picked up some voters just by being down ballot from Kemp. He won't have that in a runoff.
@flavio @McPatrick @smirk yes, me refreshing Clark county every five minutes
@Nadinabbott I read that GenZ votes cancelled out 65+ voters. If true, as a voting block, they can now take the country in whatever direction they choose.
