I don't know if I've shared this before...here's a picture of me with my first car - a glorious Holden Kingswood HZ.

Eagle-eyed readers will note a few things:

1) I am very young (by my guess this photo is 32 years old)
2) The price of fuel back then (background left) was considered outrageous!
3) I'm pretty damn pleased with myself.

@Molk Do you remember it being like 23 cents?

@stufromoz (said as politely as I can) I'm not *that* young.

The cheapest I can remember fuel is in the 40-cent-per-litre range.

@Molk I think that was the 70s. I never had to buy it then, but I do remember it..
@stufromoz Very likely. I didn't really pay attention to fuel prices until it closer to me paying for it.
@Molk @stufromoz I worked in a servo in the mid-90s. One night our tanks were low, so put the price up to 99.9c to discourage people coming in until the tanker arrived later that night. 99.9c would have people lined up down the street now!
@Molk I remember my family were in shock when it went over 60cents. The outrage!!!
