Most of these folks have websites on their profiles.
I highly recommend following the steps (linked below) to add a bit of HTML to these sites to link it back to your Mastodon profile. Mastodon will detect this and mark the website (not the profile) as verified. Then anyone looking at your profile can see that you (probably) are who you say you are.
