Lads this site depends on retoots not likes. So don't be stingy on the sharing of other people's posts - especially new folks just arrived & looking for new pals 😊 We all need to get into a sharing headspace 🥰
@TarynDeVere yes I’ve also noticed that people are liking posts but not retooting them, I try to do both. Also many new refugees have yet to put anything in their bios, making it hard to know whether to follow or not.

@weaniejeanie53 @TarynDeVere "new refugees" 🤣🤣

You mean new refugees from Twitter? Yes. I am one of them 😃

@Evidencen @TarynDeVere yes! I’ve noticed it especially in those who joined in the last couple of days, maybe they weren’t sure if they’d be staying and felt it wasn’t worth doing. I hope they’re enjoying it and stay and get around to filling in their bios, you get loads more room here to list all your interests, eccentricities and foibles! Hashtags are a good idea to help others find them.
@weaniejeanie53 @Evidencen @TarynDeVere ah no, I can’t be doing with the refugees thing, come off it! I don’t find it funny for some reason…
@Evidencen @TarynDeVere @gracedyas quite a few people have used it so it must’ve stuck in my head. Maybe newcomers would’ve been better?
@weaniejeanie53 @Evidencen @TarynDeVere bit less loaded maybe 🤣 I just feel like the comparison to people downloading a different app to people leaving their homes forever fleeing persecution a bit in bad taste- but on the other hand it’s kinda millennial late capitalist-y
@TarynDeVere @Evidencen @gracedyas I’m positive the people who’ve used it meant no disrespect to real refugees fleeing persecution, I certainly didn’t. My ancestors on my dad’s line were the original refugees here, the Huguenots. I think it feels a bit more than just downloading a new app, many feel they’ve been forced off of Twitter and had to find a new home online. I had no choice as I was suspended last week for being nasty to the head of UKIP!
