Problem with a lot of articles on how to keep a house warm is they often advocate more spending. This has a few ideas that seem genuinely low cost, including:
Nail varnish to seal gaps in window sealant
Hot water bottles!
Towels as draft excluders
Tin foil behind the radiators

Probably not new ideas to anyone but fairly cheap nonetheless

@cassanate my issue with most of the tips that keep being written about in articles are that they assume you have central heating in the first place.
@emkingma absolutely i agree. It feels like the starting point for the articles is often not reflective of where a lot people actually are.
