Luigi de Guzman@nneutrino you need to make the effort to immerse yourself in the language as much as your situation allows. Try watching the evening news in Spanish every night, for instance. Don't worry about what you can't understand. Just get used to the flow. You'll pick up more and more as you continue your formal study. But get comfortable not understanding stuff or struggling to express yourself. That'll help you transition languages.

@nneutrino like I said, it's gonna be super overwhelming. But part of what you're training yourself to do is to deal with being in over your head and grasping for anything to understand.
Formal study will teach you to be confident in what you DO know. But practice like this will teach you to be confident even if you DON'T know. That'll break down your inhibitions about not knowing "enough."
@Ouij That's pretty wise! Gotta admit there are days when I feel where is it going and it all gets heavy, overwhelming. Your words completely made sense.
