I spent today hooking up my NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64 to a gorgeous vintage CRT television and it’s everything I hoped it could be.

It’s a start!

I got the TV from a neighbor giving it away on a local community group.

And yes that is a lightsaber universal remote. I had it as a kid and I haven’t tried getting it set up yet, I think it might take some serious web searching.

Oh hell yes. Thank you random Chinese electronics companies for continuing to make obscure stuff like this.

We are in business all video game systems are hooked up and fully functioning. The TV only had Mono sound so I routed the sound from the switch into an old iPod HiFi I had laying around.

I’m unsure about the VHS player built into the TV I’m eventually going to try to get it working, but that is decidedly low priority.

The iPod HiFi sounds amazing BTW.

Long term goals:
• Bigger CRT
• Solution for running MAME (I think I have a hacked OG Xbox in my parents attic that can do this?)
• Solution for using arcade sticks comfortably while standing
• Working VHS
• Better shielded wires for less feedback/interference
• More accessible master power switch.
