#atamārie all. One of the things I loved about the early days of the bird site was the mix of apparently minor domestic detail, thoughtful opinion, expertise and lots of humour. Some people kept that going, but I didn’t realise I’d stopped posting about silly things ages ago - it’s a long time since I posted ‘where are my keys?’ Still finding my feet here, but already delighted to be returning to that mix. Shout out to #NZtwits, many of whom manage a truly delightful mix of the domestic and the political.
@Justineclark And cute stuff like meeting up at conferences coz there was a bunch of us live posting the best bits. That's where I met @nephstar and others!
@bobbythekiwi @nephstar remember Storify? I made a fantastic collection of all the coverage of Transform, which sadly disappeared when Storify closed.
@Justineclark @nephstar Yeah, it was a great way to capture the 'mood in the room', a moment in time. Met some wonderful people over the years.

@Justineclark that is actually the thing I really like about nz twitter, it really is still just a bunch of people chatting about the minutiae of daily life.

So much of the other communities on the other side switched to more broadcasting rather than discussion, I just find that boring

@Orthanc yes! And I live in Australia now, so I really love / value the connection.
@Justineclark yes, this is so true! I think I’d devolved into an eclectic retweet machine. Mostly posting here, but still flitting between the two as I haven’t mastered lists over here yet and many of the people I follow on more left field topics (Ukraine) haven’t moved.
@nephstar I also think I’ve shifted my life trivia / Justine has done something stupid (again) to Insta … will try it out here too …
