To echo Peter's original thread -- the bad stuff that happened, it's still bad. It's also distant and mostly unimportant at this point, and a lot of good stuff has happened since then. You couldn't pay me to re-inhabit my old life.

I was having coffee with a friend this week and he asked, would you go back to your old life if you could, and the vehemence with which I said "fuck, no" startled us both.

Anyway, some shit happened and it took awhile but I got through it, and since I think our time here is more likely than not drawing to a close, I just want to thank everyone who was kind and supportive back then. It helped!

@tomtomorrow that's right along with the conversation I had with my sister: if you met your husband today, as he is today, would you marry him? And we both said "fuck no!" Even though we love our spouses and have no intention to divorce...
