How am I only just finding out that Fallout 3 Trains were just people wearing a Train for a hat 😅

@gamingonlinux @djlink iirc it’s not exactly that, it’s that riding a train EQUIPS the train to the player controller’s head, or something like that.
@jono @djlink It wasn't meaning they literally in gameplay features have it as a hat, was more laughing at how it's placed...

@gamingonlinux @djlink I mean it’s just a tiny technical distinction- the moving trains running on top of an NPC model vs. the explanation I gave. Both are cool and weird they’re just different gamedev explanations.

Which is a lot of words to say “I was nitpicking”

@jono @djlink How dare you nitpick at me laughing about Train hats, I will never look at Trains the same
@djlink @gamingonlinux they’re still train hats!
They’re just worn on the player camera instead of NPC carriers!
@gamingonlinux @djlink while we’re on the subject, do you know that tables in Skyrim are just bookcases shifted into the ground?
@jono @gamingonlinux got a whole thread here in case you are interested :) https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@djlink/109313319839796759

@djlink @gamingonlinux I love seeing these every time they come up. They’re just a reminder of how human this medium is.
