I straight up do not understand how single moms/dads/parents do it. My wife and I both wfh full-time and can't afford day care so we share duties in watching the boi (15 mos) and THAT'S barely possible. Seriously amazing people out there that manage this on their own. 👏

@BentleGiant not having a "village" is brutal.
@crashmycpu we definitely feel that. Both our families are states away from us and no one here is really in the same boat. At least we have each other...
@BentleGiant our place is a perpetual disaster, and work days tend to be extremely long to make up for the childcare hours. Hopefully it's a little bit of solace that it does get easier when they're old enough for compulsory ("free") school and can (safely) entertain themselves.
The current go-to is art supplies, play-doh or kinetic sand, and lego sets that we've already built for them (but they can rebuild however they want for their minifig antics).
@BentleGiant the toddler stage is just incredibly rough. All the mobility without any of the self-preservation.
@crashmycpu this is the BEST explanation for it. 🤩
@crashmycpu honestly this helps a lot knowing the light at the end of the tunnel exists.
@BentleGiant I was over the moon when the twins were old enough to "be people" and hold conversations and have reasoning. I think somewhere around 3?
It's hell doing it all on your own right now, but you're not too far off from that transition to "kid" where the fun part starts!
Maybe we're bad parents, but they were hot-seating Elden Ring at 4.5 y/o. Just to give you an idea of how fast that ramp-up is. 😆
