Hello #TwitterMigration people.

If you encounter a racist/discriminatory/hate toot, let your administrator know (take a screenshot and attach the offensive toot when you do). Use the REPORT function to do this.

THE ADMINISTRATOR will let other admins know by tagging it with #fediblock . This helps admins to find troublesome instances..

Here, the final arbiter is a PERSON, unlike the process on the birdsite where “report abuse” triggers an algorithm

@speechwoman
I had to report a post earlier, I didn't attach a screenshot or anything, just hit Report , explained why, and sent it - and was amazed when the offensive post disappeared almost instantly!
@TheJoyOfBambi 👏good to hear!Might there have been a border-collie-lover at the other end?
@speechwoman It was a pretty aggressive post with at least one totally unacceptable word, so it's possible a load of other people reported it at the same time 😂😂. But it's great to know we can make a difference, instead of reports just disappearing into thin air on the other site!
@TheJoyOfBambi my great concern regarding reporting abuse/abusive handles on the birdsite is that anyone can file a malicious report and the algorithm picks it up and bans a blameless person, irrevocably. I am aware of this happening to couple of people I followed and respect. No amount of protest and explanation was sufficient to see their accounts restored. When they attempted to set up new handles with different credentials, their IP address was recognised and they couldn’t proceed.
@speechwoman I'm sure none of it worked there the way it should. I only ever used to report really awful hate-speech, but most of them I would get no reply. Some were removed, some were apparently not violating the t&c's. It all seemed very random. And yet I had Dog Twitter friends who had accounts suspended or lost for nothing that we could figure out.
