Today I was trying to follow someone after seeing on Twitter that they had created a Mastodon account. I can't seem to make it work though. When I copy the address for their account into the search bar (which I believe Mastodon instructs you to do), I get this message. Can anyone see what I might be doing wrong?
@watchitplayed have you tried just "@
[email protected]" in the search bar? (Remove space after first @.). This always works for me

[email protected] (without the @ in front) and it worked for me.
@linusrichard Turns out the server I'm on is blocking the the Server of the person I'm trying to follow. Didn't realize.

I was going to suggest going directly to https://mas.to/@hankgreen to make the follow request, but sounds like that won't work either.
