I was skeptical about the prevalence of CWs (content warnings) here. Tonight my partner described them as Content Wrappers, and it clicked. @adamdavidson called them Titles. And @anildash talked about consent as core to mastodon.

I am starting to like the idea a lot.

You scroll and tap what you want to read. You OPT IN. Itโ€™s also a great tool against doomscrolling! Something that would NEVER be implemented/encouraged by a regular social media company

Content Wrappers/ content warnings seem useful. Can you explain how to do it? Is it different than the visibility/privacy setting when you compose a toot?

HAHA so apparently I created a CW without realizing it (I tooted from iOS app). I can see on website version there is a CW option when composing a toot.
Any other tips welcome, thanks.

@KarenCampe I think if the top post has a CW all the replies will get the same CW. So thatโ€™s how your message got one.

There is an icon in the bottom of where you are composing a post where you can create a CW. Depending on what app you use it might look different. Here are two examples

@mathcolorstrees Thank you for helping explain!
