The new "bluechecks will fix everything" system over on the other site seems to have, maybe, a few bugs that a competent trust & safety team might have been useful in working through...
@mmasnick It's bizarre how much of this kind of stuff inevitably happening was, like, entirely obvious to anyone who gave it a moment's thought. It's difficult to believe (1) Musk could make decisions of this sort with so little pause for reflection, and (2) no one is raising the likelihood of their occurrence with him. It's Steve Jobs's Reality Distortion Field taken all the way down its Leeroy Jenkins slippery slope.

@mmasnick @arossp Every time Twitter has made a change in the last several years, they have done it slowly, slowly…with great forethought. It’s huge, and everything has incredible consequences.
@mmasnick I get the sense that Musk just firmly believes, even if subconsciously, that his first impressions *are* expertise.
