@FediFollows @gretathunberg hi there Fedifollows. I know being verified on mastodon is not happening (yet)... but I wonder if someone put themself on here impressionating themselfs to be a well known or famous person.. how do people really know it's the real person?

We are pretty new to mastodon ourselfs so we just wonder how the verification works on making sure people are getting influenced by the real people and not fake accounts that impressionate someone else?

@catsofmastodon @FediFollows @gretathunberg assuming that most people of influence would have a website they could opt to add a verification badge to their site, can be found in settings on Mastodon. Not a catch all but a good option.
