Texan here. I read national pundits making snide cracks about Beto constantly running and losing, but its the opposite. While he may not win statewide, he pulls out a lot of votes that flip close elections in smaller counties. There is definitely a Beto effect down-ballot.

Compare his turnout energy to other past Democrats like Lupe Garcia or Bill White and there’s no comparison.

It’s only ever good when Beto runs.
