@WldMnDave I think you might have more success with a Debian based distro. Linux Mint is great, for example, and comes in 3 flavours depending on the age of your laptop.

@adrianyorke Maybe, but I'm not trying to put Linux on a laptop (all of my computers run Linux). I'm trying to install Linux on an old Samsung Android Tablet.
