Today I took some time to write a page titled What I Want

While I covered financial stability and health, I tried to think *more* about what I do with my hours and days, and whether it all leads to the life I want

It's a great exercise. I'd encourage people to be shallow too! It's ok to write down the material things you want! You might be surprised at what is within your reach

@jilleduffy It's just so easy to not think about these things. I realized years ago that what I really wanted was to be around people I like more often and have worked hard to make that central. I'm really glad I did.

@jhpot Yes! So happy to hear you figured it out early for yourself.

My revelations are always interesting too, like I want to travel *less* but make each trip more special. And for work? I just want to write without intense time pressure. I value having time to think!

@jilleduffy I've been exploring what I need from work for a while, and I don't know that I've figured it out completely. What I do know is that freelancing allows me to collaborate with a great group of editors while also being able to dictate my own pace, which is really great.
