PSA:

There's Politics happening a few places around the world right now.

Please, /please/, place all political posts behind a content warning. It's actually in our Code of Conduct as a strong suggestion, but if we see anyone posting heavy political content frequently and without a CW, we will 'limit' the account (at the very least) so that the post don't show up on the public timeline.

Be considerate of the mental health of your online neighbours.

Expanded info:

Usually when people are talking about politics, no matter how mild, whether it's personal commentary on current events or a link to an article, it's placed behind a content warning that will read something like "USPOL, -" USPOL stands for US politics, and you can use a + or - to show whether the nature of your post is positive or negative.

A lot of people enjoy reading political commentary but won't boost it if it doesn't have a CW. It's not censorship, it's consideration.

@Curator Hello - please can you confirm if we use UKPOL for UK politics and please can you explain how to put the content warning in place so that the content can be placed behind? I'm new here.
@snigdha @Curator Yes, you can use UKPOL for UK politics. To add the content warning, you need to press press one of the buttons at the bottom of the box where you're composing a toot. I believe the button is "CW" on the web interface and a speech bubble in Tusky; I don't know what it looks like in other apps. Once you press it, you'll get a "content warning" box above the toot. Put your CW there.
@thurisaz @Curator thank you for you help!
