Hello all❤️ I am so sorry for all the issues on mstdn.social the past days..  

Two nights ago over 11K new people joined mstdn.social via invite links while I was asleep and this made the total active people on here to 53K.

The current issue / battle I'm fighting is to keep up with the background jobs for proccessing toots, follows, etc etc.

Please know that I'm doing my best. I've also setup an extra instance to spread the load a little on https://masto.ai

@stux dumb question: if you migrate instances (look at me with this lingo!) is there an easy way to rebuild who you are following? Thanks for all you're doing!

@potd @stux thank you. Does it just take some time? I migrated yesterday and kept my followers buti had nobody on my "following" list so I refollowed a bunch manually...

@potd @stux so if you are following a lot of accounts you have to re-follow them all individually? Seems like more effort than I anticipated (but this new server seems much faster!!)

@1loafofmeat @potd @stux Nopes.. just export the CSV of who you followed and then re-import on your new account. 5 minute job and you' re back in action.

@moostveen @potd @stux aha thank you! But on my app (mastodon for Android) I'm only seeing "export" as an option but not import... (sorry to be so thick)

@1loafofmeat @potd @stux maybe that's only available in the webclient, I do a lot on my laptop.

You should be able to see it then if you open up masto.ai on a browser on your phone.

It defaults to export, but you can choose import from the hamburger menu on the top left.

@1loafofmeat @potd @stux Great! It may take a bit of time before all people you followed are back, but if it's accepted the file and said it'll add the people you should be good.

@jsoref @stux thanks--i was more worried about having to re-follow everyone I follow but some helpful folks walked me through that as well.
