BREAKING NEWS: In what I believe is the most widespread election monitoring effort it has ever undertaken, the DOJ Civil Rights Division just announced that it will have officials in the field monitoring the polls in 24 STATES on Election Day. This is huge. This is the DOJ being true to its mission. You can find the list of jurisdictions that will be monitored here:

Justice Department to Monitor Polls in 24 States for Compliance with Federal Voting Rights Laws

The Justice Department announced today its plans to monitor compliance with federal voting rights laws in 64 jurisdictions in 24 states for the Nov. 8, 2022 general election.

@ifilljustice Here in Clark County, Nevada, as a child, election day just meant that we couldn't eat in the lunchroom for the day. As an adult who works with children outside the school setting, it seems really ominous that they now give kids the day off (in the middle of the week, mind you) and probably due to the fact that there could be potential violence. Thank goodness, we're on the list.
