Nanette@acka47 Help request if you have time: I signed up using mastodon because the app was recommended to me, but not by an academic. How do I get from here to an academic instance?
Cyber Yuki1) You sign up with a new account on that instance
2) You set up an alias (under settings) and tell the new instance your old account
3) You use the migration tools on your actual instance (they're in the settings page) and put the new account in there.
4) Confirm. Your old account is deactivated and forwarded to the new instance's account. Your follows and followers are migrated.
