@benjaminwittes Just listened to a podcast by the founder of UniteAmerica.org about how Alaska's new ranked-choice top-four voting system combats extremism.
Today's combination of "safe seats" with primaries means candidates compete for the approval of extreme primary voters over general electorate support. The Alaska model changes candidate incentives to appeal to all constituents.
This model is a concrete, actionable solution that could fix our divided country.
