@lxtruong @raineer @adamdavidson yeah interacting with cross-posts feels like trying to chat with a voicemail message.

If folks are going to be here, they should... be here.

@benjaminlowe hey, friend!
@iodave Dave! ok now the party can officially start!

@benjaminlowe @lxtruong @raineer @adamdavidson

I'm going to second this emotion. Seeing crossposts from Twitter also makes it harder to get a sense of how things are building up here. If it's crossposted from a Tweet, no idea if the person is even seeing replies here. So, sort of what you said.

@benjaminlowe @lxtruong @raineer @adamdavidson I imagine some other people are approaching it similar to me which is using cross posting only as a temporary transition tool but don’t plan on using it forever, just until we become more comfortable in Mastodon and enough of our friends and contacts move over and then goodbye bird site.
Thoughts? Are there things we can do to make it less obnoxious when we need to do this as a transitional phase?
@HelloAndrew @benjaminlowe @raineer @adamdavidson IMO if you're just going to copy/paste your tweets or set up a program to do that, that's unobjectionable. But if you set up some weird thing that links back to Twitter that's sort of mailing it in and I wonder why anyone bothers.
@lxtruong @benjaminlowe @raineer @adamdavidson I don’t think I’m familiar with what you’re talking about when you say that weird thing that links back to Twitter
