You might know me for my board game reviews, but today I made my very first sweet bun, without a stand mixer I might add. Putting those bread skills to good use.
@nopunincluded That is one tasty looking bun.
@imperialcreed I am so pleased with how it came out. Cinammon swirl inside, sticky maple toffee and peanuts on the outside.
@nopunincluded It tells me this is NSFW. You think it's safe to click?
@Janko I have learned that blurring away food pics is good etiquette here.
@nopunincluded
Ha, 🤣 , one lives and learns
@nopunincluded Look out, @Boardgamefeast, NPI is coming for ya! 😜

Looks delicious!
@spencer not until they admit that board games are food!
@nopunincluded that looks professional!
@nopunincluded congratulations on surviving the 3 rounds of waiting/proving it takes to make cinnamon buns.
@Boardgamefeast oh, after Neapolitan pizza that bit is a piece of cake (no pun intended). It's hand kneading this gloopy mess of a dough that was the real challenge. Milk? Eggs?? Butter??? Eurgh.

@nopunincluded Efka, that looks incredibly delicious & extremely sticky.

Can I ask what recipe you used?

I did make cinnamon buns once during lockdown using a recipe I found online - they turned out really well but my kitchen doesn't have enough space to bake like that regularly.

I still miss Thursday morning breaks at work (way back in the day) when it was sticky bun day.

Enormous Chelsea buns, covered in thick glacé icing, baked in-house.

Thurs am canteen queues were always out the door!
