I made the mistake of glancing over at The Other Site to see how the collapse is going, and phew it's a lot. Between the dirty screen, the exhortation to vote for Republicans, the continued banning of parodies... it's really a speed run.

It's also apparent at this point that one cannot meaningfully use Twitter without knowing who Musk is... policy is whatever his whims are, so that's simply a part of posting there now.

Long story short, not regretting my move to the fediverse, even as much as I'm sad to lose contact with friends that have decided to stay on Twitter.

@aeva I expect so, yeah. Not all of them will find a home here, and as much as that makes me sad, that's also OK? I'm just happy folks are taking some agency in their social environments, even if that doesn't include me.
