For those wondering, I typically have about 60 meetings/week, split across about 50 hours.
@jerry That's kind of terrifying. πŸ˜¬β€‹
@jerry Christ. That's an awful lot of work.
@jerry damn, that’s crazy
@jerry sounds like my last corporate gig
@jerry oh damn.. how do you get anything done? Does your brain not melt away?
@jerry I sent you a recurring meeting invite to discuss how we can better address this overload of meetings. β€‹
@jerry on the plus side everything is very carefully planned. However there is a new concept known as sleep I think you'd enjoy... If you can fit it into you schedule
@wintervirus the last time i slept well was early May, 2000 before my first son was born. Been on a πŸš€β€‹ since then
@jerry my daughter just turned 18 and I figured the sleepless night would be over but... nope, still worry when she is out and about
@jerry Holy sh*t! Hope while having to maintain this server you don't start sleeping in the office. 'Cause that would be some irony.
@jerry does this include beach meets?
I have 30 meetings and increasing this week, which is more than enough!
@jerry oof. Back at AWS I had 15-20 meetings a week and that was unbearable for me. I didn't have time to prepare things unless I started missing lunches etc or, yeah, worked 50hrs. It's one of the reasons why I decided to move on.
@jerry Jesus wept… hopefully some of which can at least be taken from the β€œbeach office”?
@steve I have a view of the beach from my desk, and I live vicariously through my wife who toils away down in a beach chair

@jerry I spend an average of 7 hours each day in meetings... I feel your pain!

Where I work, there's a running joke that the work day is to plan all the work you're going to do once the work day ends. 🀦

@jerry Same, I'm a Staff Security Engineer and I tend to have more meetings than actual hands on work....
@jerry Big YIKES 😬 That’s seriously rough!
@jerry how many of those meetings could of been emails.
@jerry I cannot in good conscience favorite this, Jerry. Take care of yourself sir.
@jerry I wasn't wondering, but I am now.

@jerry so my guess is that when you keep notes you keep eye contact with people whe typo g furiously what you need to keep notes on.

Otherwise, you wouldn't have enough time for an after-action note?

Do you need to process anything that came up during calls?

Or do you have an army of scribes and do-ers to do any actions decided during those calls?

@rhcmuts I mostly make decisions all day long
