The games I'm currently playing:

#TheWitcherIII (cheap on PS4, like it's similarity to Fallout and Horizon, bit grim at times though and quite hard. Perhaps should have gone in on story mode).

A second playthrough of #HorizonForbiddenWest - shooting robot dinosaurs with a bow and arrow. Perfection.

#TwoPointCampus - loved the revival of Theme Hospital. This is also fun

#ThrowingToyMouseForMyCat - the most played game

@cliffchapman While my current machine wont run #Fallout4, I had a hell of a good time when I played it on Survival mode. I discovered that melons were the way to keep alive, since its food and water all in one. I had everyone farming up mass amounts of them! I left stashes everywhere, making my way South to the brutal parts of the map.

I really need to build a new computer (coming soon, when parts prices drop a bit more)

@elf survival mode is pretty hard core I imagine. It stressed me out and scared me to death on Normal. ;) (In that addictive sort of I hate this - must have more! Way. ;) )

@cliffchapman At times ive run a ton of mods and it is very fun, I typically set up camp in that first gas station up North, and then later would even build a structure on TOP and fast travel into it - and tall platforms in strategic spots to allow lots of atuo machine guns (to discourage visitors lol).

I miss my house!

Survival mode makes you paranoid and efficient as hell, highly reccomended~

@elf cool. I really want to try Fallout London. And I think there was a Doctor Who one with the TARDIS somewhere...

@cliffchapman OH SURE RUB IT IN, I cant run crap on this machine ....boohooohooooo

I did beat Dawn of War: Soulstorm on Hard w/ the Necrons tho, took me a while but its easier than you might think...(fave part? Solo Nan Yanoi w/ Necron himself, at least 2/3 of the map...it takes forever)

@elf I think there's a way to run games remotely, so essentially dead good computers run your games for you and pipe them to your screen and controls. Don't know more than that, but might be worth looking in to? Remote server games or somesuch

@cliffchapman I am very close to putting together a proer Ryzen system so all will be solved then.

I am currently on a mobo/cpu that i threw together in *2007*, then shelved for a number of years to use a better hand me down machine. That newer machine finally gave up after about 8 solid years of being on - only very sparing breaks for clean it, or add in new parts.

So its time for a (mostly) fresh build....

@elf Nice. I've not had a desktop in years, been entirely laptops, android tablets, a couple of iPads and then last five years a Surface Pro evangelist, which is great for voice work. Need a new keyboard though, mine is getting tatty

@cliffchapman Oh I blow through a KB every once in a while, replace it with one just as cheap as the previous!

Voice work? I've become a bit of a microphone snob ove the years and also collect (and love dearly) the magazine TapeOp. If you've never read it, its worth the few minutes to sign up for a free subscription. Its all about gear, from the smallest 1 track studio to full on high end Pro setups that have *all* the goodies. PLUS the folks who use it, making your fave music!

@elf ooh shiny thanks for the tip, will do. Yeah, I'm a trained actor and did a lot of theatre and a bit of voicework, and then had a really lovely run with The Black Library on their audio dramas, and some Big Finish. And a couple of Audible dramas :)
@elf at the moment I use a Rode NT2A in a home made booth, through a Focusrite Scarlett interface :)

@cliffchapman TapeOp has gear reviews too, forgot to mention, so its new stuff to drool over, ever other month (its 6x yearly)

Ive been reading it since 1998-9 or so. So Ive seen a mountain of new things come along, and esp. in the digital recording side of things....its come quite a ways.

Rode makes some nice stuff, and there is another sweet spot (price wise) at about 500-700 bucks, takes you to that almost U47-67 range...well, a modern take on one, anyway...the originals are insanely $$$

@cliffchapman I need to tag them lol #TapeOp
They also have stellar forums so if you have questions its the place to visit, all levels of expereince will be there...
