@quinnanya Quinn, there's a way to start a special interest group on Mastodon like an email distribution list (ala Yahoo Groups) -- see https://a.gup.pe/ for more info. Mention it in a toot and it comes into existence (just created one myself). Sounds like you already have the critical mass.

@dbaplanb Thank you! I'll check this out -- a #DigitalHumanities list could be handy, though I'll confess to still being a little confused after reading the directions. 😅

@quinnanya -- Basically, you write a post and speak the group into being. If you look under my profile, you'll see I did it 19h ago with a literary translation group. There are now exactly 3 members -- me and two others who found it on their own, strangers to me, but not for long. 😀 If you use a common hashtag for the name of the group, people will find it!

@dbaplanb Aha, thank you! It’s probably just paranoia after Other Social Media Sites (and/or my university’s mailing list setup) but a group like that feels like the sort of thing that would be taken over by spammers in no time? Maybe thet’s just not a thing here?
